The Isle of Man Aircraft Registry was launched on 1st May 2007. At the same time Equiom launched the Flymann Aircraft Registration and Management service.
Equiom has been intrumental in the promotion of this new service and now offers owners and operators the facility to register and manage their aircraft from the Isle of Man.
Fly M for Mann
The International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) was informed by the UK Department of Transport that the Isle of Man will operate an aircraft register under the auspices of the UK as the Contracting State to the Chicago Convention.
All aircraft registered in the Isle of Man will bear the prefix M, which will be followed by four characters, for example: M-MANX, M-YSKY.
This identification mirrors the format of the major European registers.
